Lucretia Leary spends most days struggling against depression and mediating disputes between her second husband Jermaine and her daughter Ronnie. While Lucretia seems lost in a recurring dream, Ronnie retreats to her bedroom and a friend by text, and Jermaine drowns his troubles in alcohol. As if their world isn't troubled enough, an old acquaintance of Lucretia's enters and turns it upside down.
