The landmark PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola opened in December 2008, further elevating the Whistler Blackcomb experience.
The mountains also play host to countless festivals and events each year including the legendary World Ski & Snowboard Festival each April, and Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival each August. Whistler Blackcomb also played host to the world as the official alpine skiing venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Skiing and riding is still open until May 20, 2013.
