KAZAKHSTAN LAND OF FREE PEOPLE
The term Kazakh, from which the state takes its name, derives from the Turkish language whose meaning is "free", "wanderer" and best summarizes the nomadic culture of Kazakhs. Therefore Kazakhstan can be literally translated "Land of the Kazakhs", that is "Land of free people". Kazakhstan, is the largest country on the Eurasian steppe, and has been, throughout history, a transit route for peoples, states and mighty empires.
