    FLORIDA COAST TO COAST

Crossing South Florida is like diving into nothingness and coming out refreshed. Swamps and marshes infested with alligators, prairies and ancient trees. A unique and uninhabited ecosystem.

    FLORIDA COAST TO COAST

Directed by Pietro Pellizzieri 2021 25 min
There is an ancient route, a road traced by pioneers that crosses South Florida from coast to coast.
It is a road that starts from the city of Tampa and reaches Miami crossing hostile and boundless territories.
The idea of connecting the two coasts of Florida dates back to the early 1900s. A real road was needed to develop the region.
They succeeded in 1928 with an engineering feat that was astounding for the time, overcoming the tangle of forests and the impassable swamp of the Everglades.
A few nautical miles from the west coast of Florida, bathed by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, lies Sanibel Island.
