Alec is a young American single writer with cerebral palsy looking for love and acceptance. Speaking through his bitter but physically attractive able-bodied alter ego from Britain, he admits to a sex doll called Annabelle his thoughts about commercialism, health issues and religion in society as well as past dates. Annabelle, a symbol of American culture's obsession with perfection and materialism, allows Alec's alter ego to fall away revealing his disability and genuine personality to shine through, forcing us to decide what is truly attractive.
