I am a novelist, filmmaker and entrepreneur (founder of Highway 29 Motion Pictures), family man and an avid fan of southern lit. I wrote, produced and directed two shoestring features and numerous short films before co-producing the features Esposito and Elephant Sighs, and directing the feature Lake of Fire from my own screenplay. I've written more than 20 screenplays and five novels, two of which are published, and a book of poetry and flash fiction (Home Movie). My wife, Susan, and our three children, Ben, Lucas and Rosie, work with me on films. Susan and Lucas co-produced Lake of Fire, Ben acted in it and did our animal wrangling, Rosie was our propmaster. I usually work with our friend, Philip Dann, who was the cinematographer and an actor for Lake of Fire. We work on the micro-budget level, and enjoy the low pressure and creative freedom of low budget filmmaking. We live in North Carolina under the banner Highway 29 Motion Pictures for the narrative films we produce.
