Amid the bustling excitement and hectic crossfire of musicians and music lovers alike, we met up with Ontario native Royal Wood during the Vancouver Folk Festival last weekend. He met us under a shaded willow tree in Jericho Park and captured our attention immediately with a stunning rendition of his beautifully simple love song "Thick of It" off his new album "We Were Born to Glory".

With a busy festival schedule, Wood hurried off after the session to give yet another interview but we were able to catch his set later on that day. With a full band, he confidently entertained a enthralled crowd without losing the integrity and heart we had seen earlier in the day. It's apparent that the seasoned producer/singer/songwriter has stitched his soul into every note that he sings, strums or keys.
