When we unhook todays seventh eight-kilo pike at the edge of the boat we are in Nirvana. The flooding we have suffered from in three hard weeks has finally begun to give way and it seems like the pike is pleased with it as well. They bite hard and often, almost always in the surface or just below it, and right now life can't be better.
Our Nirvana is the central parts of Alaska, the Yukon Koyukuk-region and a place we have dreamed of since childhood and talked about almost every time we met. We are four good friends who is on our adventure of a lifetime. The idea was to paddle a canoe for six weeks and look for what is said to be by far the world's best pike fishing, but things rarely turns out as expected.
Embark on an extraordinary adventure. Intense bear encounters are interspersed unbelievable pike fishing and a wildlife without equal.
