It was the summer of 2020 when Melinda and Doug McCaw attempted to run the entire Colorado Trail, 490 miles, in just 18 days. That is the equivalent of more than a marathon a day for 18 days straight with an elevation gain of almost 90,000 feet. That’s not a typo. The thing is, Doug and Melinda are not marathon runners. In fact, they’ve never run a marathon. They are an ordinary Western Colorado couple that loves the outdoors, enjoys trail running and loves to help kids succeed. What would make them think they could accomplish such an amazing feat? This is the heartwarming story of two ordinary people attempting the extraordinary.
