Born in South Africa in 1954, graduated with BA Honors in Political Philosophy and Film in 1977. Wrote and directed numerous documentaries, TV drama series and five feature films: CITY WOLF (1996), DUNE SURFER (1997), AU PAIR (aka MY DAUGHTER'S KEEPER, MIRAMAX 1993), OVERLEVEN (SURVIVING) (NL, 2007), SCHOFT (NL, 2009). Won two Best Film awards for OVERLEVEN, in 2008, and a Best Film and an Audience Award (as well as a Best Male Lead Award for the main actor) for SCHOFT in 2010. Currently based in Hilversum, the Netherlands, from where Dahms and partner Michele Aime produce feature films, documentaries, and web videos for non-profits with their company, BUZZMEDIA NETWORK (www.buzzmedia.net).
