    I, Mediterranean

I, Mediterranean is a story told from both inside and outside the immense and ever changing Mediterranean sea. Narrated by Remo Girone, the film tells the story of the havoc being wreaked on the Sea by climate change and tries to predict what the long term effects on this ancient sea will be. It highlights the key role of Marine Protected Areas in the safeguarding of the Mediterranean environment, providing evidence of how the dire current state of the Mediterranean can be dramatically improved when damaging human activities are reduced. Shot primarily in the Marine Protected Area of Portofino, Italy, the film uses a microcosmic look at what is happening to the sea in one marine park to draw bigger conclusions and inspiration for the Mediterranean at large, connecting emotionally with audiences to encourage people to change their habits and behaviour. The sea is talking to us… let’s listen to it!
