    Uploaded Nov 7, 2015
Sailing has always been an important part of Norwegian engineer Sigurd Coates’ life. One day in the harbor of St. Tropez he longed to get a closer look at the big traditional yachts, but was denied access. This led him to the decision to make his own boat
    – one that would be open to the public.

20 years and all his resources were spent on building a replica of the King Edward VII’s Yacht “Britannia” in Arkhangelsk, Russia. A project that posed daunting challenges regarding the language barrier, cultural differences and technical issues. His determination and stamina was challenged when a powerful Russian businessman tried to seize the boat, sending them spiraling through the Russian court system. The financial and personal costs of the project ended up being much higher than expected. Director Ann Coates tells the story of her brother’s passionate boat project. When is leaving the dream the braver choice?
